Gratitude, the only right attitude!

Gratitude    A sure-fire way to get a good energy between you and the people you have daily interactions with, and charge both yourself and them up, is to be in a state of deep gratitude for what they bring to your life. The great thing about this is it's not initiated solely by an exchange of money. You can create a feeling of positive energy around you which others will sense, and it will in turn affect their mentality. I urge you to try this.   Remember everyone is just trying to eke out an existence in whatever capacity they can. There really isn’t a hierarchy of importance in job titles. The street sweeper is just as important as the high-powered lawyer, and the shoe salesman’s role is as important as your doctors. If you’ve ever worn uncomfortable shoes, you’ll know what I mean here. It is not the title but the attitude that is being brought to the service. A chef might say, “I prepare food” or “I prepare a sensory experience in which I help people create g...

Wealth is more than Money

All Relative   You can complain about the size of your home until you see someone living in a box. The great Sufi poet Rumi has a saying: “I complained about my shoes until I met a man who had no feet.” There is always somebody worse off than you and conversely someone doing a million times better. But, you are you, you have to live the life that your mindset, and actions have created. If you don’t like what you see, act on changing it but - try to appreciate the good aspects of what you have- there is always something to be thankful for. It’s all about putting things in context.   Ask and Receive a No! (Secret to “The Secret”)   The Law of Attraction. There it is. You attract what you think about most of the time. Oh yah? Then why does Angelina Jolie not show up in my bedroom, and why is there no Lexus parked in my driveway? Does anybody else have an issue with this? How can someone without a million dollars attract it if like creates like? Do we just stack ...

Wealth

II WEALTH   I count him as rich he who can do without the most stuff- (some smart man ) Make Me Rich   A simple search on Google with the phrase like “get rich” will result in approximately 217,000,000 results. So where do you start? What works and what is a carefully contrived scam to make the web master a millionaire? Well, first off in trying to get rich you will make someone rich. If you are so gullible to think that you can “get rich quick” then someone will be more than willing to charge you $49.95 to show you a program on how to do it. What about stocks and investments? How’s that working for you? The stock market crash of 2008 and subsequent recession (that is still in process as of this writing and looks like it could spiral down even worse in 2012) devastated many people’s portfolios and left them wondering where to put their money. Visualize/Materialize   How about just visualizing the money as if you already have it? I love this one. Every nig...

Organizing and Organic.

Get Organized   An adjunct to the To-Do list is putting organizational systems in place that let you have more time. Did you ever consider that the reason you put off menial tasks that would take you all of 5 minutes is because you can’t find the tools to do the job. Here’s a great idea, you know that drawer in your kitchen that’s full of junk. Make it a utility draw. Have one or two essential tools from the office and garage here. i.e. hammer, pens, ruler/tape measure. I’m telling you; this can work a small miracle in your life just knowing you don’t have to rummage through that nasty, cluttered tool box in the basement. Same thing goes for keys; check books- have a place for these things and always keep them in that place. Keys on a hook in the front closet work well and your check book in your office or maybe your kitchens chef desk-wherever you pay your bills from. What an energy saver!   An ECO- Warrior   Green. That's the phrase of 2000’s. ...

Health

I Health/Lifestyle You don’t have anything if you don’t have your health. LAZY?   Are you lazy? You're reading this right, so that takes some mental effort. So in whose estimation would you be considered lazy? Do you wake up, get out of bed, shower, have breakfast, see the kids off to school, go to work, pay the bills drive home, make dinner, socialize, attend to family, fix something, make love with your spouse, and go to bed only to do it all over the next day? What are you, a super-man or woman?                                                                                                        Why on earth if you can do all this would you need a book or program on self-improvement? Well, because the experts wo...

Introduction

Intro     There's a great George Carlin joke that goes something like this. You ever notice when you're driving down the highway when someone races past you yell “idiot!” and then when someone is too slow in front and you have to pass them you mutter, “moron”. Well, which one are you? And how does this tie in with a book poking fun off our culture’s current obsession with self-improvement? It doesn't, but it's damn funny. No seriously, if everyone is trying to be better than the guy in the next cubicle, but your boss is attending motivational seminars, but the CEO has a personal coach, then who has the upper hand. Self-improvement really levels the playing field. I mean why be an average Joe (sorry Joe) when you can be Super Joe! The caveat and intent of this book is let's do it as human beings not human doings -in a mad, frantic, competitive race. Gently, gracefully, outsmart, out centre, and out earn your best friend. We all have the same basic needs, onc...

Preface 1 and 2

Hey there!! I'm following Neil Pasricha's advice-except in reverse- of creating a blog and then turning it into a book, in Neil's case The Book of Awesome. I have created a little gratitude guide called The Rich Buddha and over the course of 2023 will place the chapters in this new blog! Hope you enjoy the content and please reach out anytime.  i Preface 1: A Global Pandemic It is May of 2020 as I write this. We are approximately 70 days in of a worldwide lockdown.   "Stay at Home." "Shelter in Place." "Socially isolate."   These were the slogans of our directions. Protocols were put in place- stay 6ft apart, wear a face mask (so many versions and confusion over what works and what doesn’t!) The live concert industry was shut down, theatre and restaurants also. Travel was down 90%.   The Covid 19 virus spread quickly throughout the world. It proved very divisive; the two main camps being, anti-vaxxers, and the vaccinated. Governments s...
