Awakened   Ok, let’s put it all together! Here is my personal list of personal development, self-improvement, and daily optimization protocols and habits: 1.       5:00am club. Can be 6:00am and in winter maybe even 7:00am Point is to not lay in bed and snooze, get up and to the day. Going to bed by 10 or 10:30 gives you enough required sleep (6-8 hours.) 2.      Cold showers. Warm, hot. Finish cold. 3.      Read, read, read. I read 5 books at a time. All at different times of the day. Re-read many good books that had an impact on you. Take notes or make notes and highlight. 4.      Meditation=gamechanger. I use the Muse brain training headband. 5.      MCT oil, Omega 3 and 6, and a nootropic with Ashwagandha, and/or Gingko Biloba,   Bacopa. Good for brain clarity and focus. COFFEE of course also! 6.      Work-out/weight training! Training you...

In conclusion...Lighten Up!

Laughter Heals All    So, LIGHTEN UP, nothing is so serious that doesn't have a humorous side. I just saw a news story of a man who became paralyzed and was confined in a wheelchair. Very un-funny. He had brought home an injured raccoon and was nurturing it back to health. When it was better it proceeded to run up a tree, the man thought this unwise so proceeded to get a ladder and climbed up after him. The ladder slipped, the man fell and broke his neck in two places. Moral, let nature deal with yard rodents. LOL  Enjoy this process, this journey of self-discovery. But don't obsess over perfection, there is no such thing. We are all divinely flawed. Delight in your imperfection; it is this aspect that makes you who you are.   Conclusion   The Gift of A Day For someone who’s already heard an aphorism many times it may become a tired cliché, and lose its power, but when the saying falls upon fresh ears it may be a revelation. It is with this in m...

Spontaneity

I’ll Come Up with a Title (and Content Later)    So you're thinking, "wow, he doesn’t have anything to say here” but that’s my point. I didn’t but I knew I would when the gun went off. Spontaneity. Improvisation. On the fly. In the moment. Wingin’ it. Jazz musicians do it all the time, great comedians do it all the time. Come up with something on the spur of the moment that actually seems prepared in advance. You’re a fully functioning, capable, creative human, why wouldn’t you be able to do this? I think many of us spend more time planning our summer vacations than we do our lives...yet we seem afraid to actually be truly spontaneous in so many situations. How about a quick, last minute weekend get away (yes, the In-Laws will watch the kids) how about a new restaurant, how about a different paint color instead of that familiar neutral?  The world instils in us the very opposite instinct. We are always preparing for something, paying taxes, contributing to our RR...

Positively negative

I’m Positive I’m Negative    We use expressions like “I get a good vibe from him,”; “Something feels wrong here”, or even “Who didn’t eat their Wheaties?” to explain an instinctive reaction we have to peoples energy. There is much talk in our present culture of spreading positive energy to balance all the negative in the world. Some argue how can positive thinking change the world? Well, it affects the very creative ‘stuff    that is in the air. Stuff we can’t see.  Here’s an analogy if you find this concept hard to swallow. We can’t see the wind but we can see the effect of the wind. From a gentle breeze that moves the grass to a gale to a hurricane force that can topple houses. This is an unseen force that has very tangible results. That is your attitude of positivity or negativity.   I recall a study by Masaru Emoto wherein he examined water molecules under a very high-powered microscope. They played different music in the lab-when the music wa...

III WISDOM Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom. Samuel Taylor Coleridge

The Chinese have a great saying, well, many if you appreciate fortune cookie philosophy, but this one says, “True wisdom is only attainable after 50.” If so, why is every young fk’n know-it-all willing to offer their little jewels to you?   It always seems someone has the answer to all your problems. Instead of just lending an ear, they all too often lend a mouth! Here’s a list of some of those little sayings that “friend” of yours always uses to impart his infinite wisdom. Well, sort of. Top 10 Useless Aphorisms   1. An apple a day keeps the Doctor away.   Maybe, until it’s discovered that the pesticides and genetic modification of our food definitely causes cancers we haven't even thought off. You eat organic you say? Good, but the unfortunate corollary is you'll have less money for the day when you're fighting off whatever else is going to kill you. 2. Every cloud has a silver lining No, it doesn't. Not that I've ever seen. And if true then every si...

Gratitude, the only right attitude!

Gratitude    A sure-fire way to get a good energy between you and the people you have daily interactions with, and charge both yourself and them up, is to be in a state of deep gratitude for what they bring to your life. The great thing about this is it's not initiated solely by an exchange of money. You can create a feeling of positive energy around you which others will sense, and it will in turn affect their mentality. I urge you to try this.   Remember everyone is just trying to eke out an existence in whatever capacity they can. There really isn’t a hierarchy of importance in job titles. The street sweeper is just as important as the high-powered lawyer, and the shoe salesman’s role is as important as your doctors. If you’ve ever worn uncomfortable shoes, you’ll know what I mean here. It is not the title but the attitude that is being brought to the service. A chef might say, “I prepare food” or “I prepare a sensory experience in which I help people create g...

Wealth is more than Money

All Relative   You can complain about the size of your home until you see someone living in a box. The great Sufi poet Rumi has a saying: “I complained about my shoes until I met a man who had no feet.” There is always somebody worse off than you and conversely someone doing a million times better. But, you are you, you have to live the life that your mindset, and actions have created. If you don’t like what you see, act on changing it but - try to appreciate the good aspects of what you have- there is always something to be thankful for. It’s all about putting things in context.   Ask and Receive a No! (Secret to “The Secret”)   The Law of Attraction. There it is. You attract what you think about most of the time. Oh yah? Then why does Angelina Jolie not show up in my bedroom, and why is there no Lexus parked in my driveway? Does anybody else have an issue with this? How can someone without a million dollars attract it if like creates like? Do we just stack ...
